Embodiment in VR

As of Monday February 25th, Associate Prof. Jesse Fox (Ohio State University, see here or here) will start a 6-month sabbatical stay at the VU Department of Communication Science (Faculty of Social Sciences) to collaborate together with Tilo Hartmann – and other scholars, of course –  on Virtual Reality research. Jesse is a former PhD student of Stanford’s Jeremy Bailenson, and emerged into a renowned VR scholar herself. Her research interests include the study of embodiment in VR, sexual harassment in virtual worlds, and using VR as a tool to instigate prosocial behavior, like tackling climate change. Jesse is interested in presenting and meeting people and collaborating on VR during her sabbatical stay. So feel free to get in contact!
