Last week Ivano Malavolta was appointed by the Board of Deans as the new director of the Network Institute, thus succeeding Ivar Vermeulen (Communications department, VU). Ivano is Assistant Professor at the S2 (Software and Sustainability) research group. He will strive to enhance multidisciplinary cooperation among associated departments by e.g. facilitating research in the NI labs and by means of outreach to companies. His endeavours will focus on the higher visibility of activities within, as well as outside the scientific community.
