In June 2022 we organized a workshop on Digital Nomads – Living in a Society of Digital Employees for discussing how society, employers and employees can deal with the new way of working in the digital society, and how to contribute from a scientific perspective. The workshop was attended by policy-makers from the European Commission and scientists from academia.
The workshop is sponsored by the Aurora Universities and the Network Institute (VU Amsterdam).
The goals of the workshop were: (1) to discuss what actions are needed from policy-makers and scientists, (2) to foster new contacts between researchers and policy-makers from the European Commission, (3) to provide opportunities for research collaborations, and (4) to develop written outcomes in the public domain.
As a result of the workshop we produced a white paper titled Digital Nomads: Opportunities and Challenges for the Future of Work in the Post-Covid Society and prepared by the following authors:
