As our latest visiting researcher Mara Floris (Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele) has concluded her project too, we can look back on three fruitful research visits in 2025.

Floris’ project investigated how generative AI can be used as a pedagogical tool to strengthen critical thinking and debunking skills. Although AI systems can reproduce persuasive rhetorical patterns, the core challenge addressed here is educational: how can AI-supported interactions help users recognize manipulation, evaluate credibility, and develop epistemic vigilance when confronted with misleading or biased information?

The visit was extremely fruitful and led to outcomes that go beyond the initial plan, such as the design of thesis projects and the establishment of a new collaboration with Elena Beretta and Aneta Lisowska on AI in medical settings.
