Shared Pathways to a Sustainable and Just Future: Navigating the Anthropocene
The Network Institute and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam invite all scholars and societal stakeholders to contribute to the Connected World Winter Conference 2025.
This conference aims to address the profound challenges of our time – colloquially called the Anthropocene – an epoch in which human activity has become a dominant influence on Earth’s climate and environment, leading to problems of social justice and environmental sustainability.
Hereby the four main tracks, each designed to foster interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing the challenges of our time:
- Connected World: Exploring how digitalization, migration, and global networks affect social and economic inequalities, and how we can foster inclusivity.
- Human Health and Life Sciences: Addressing sustainable distribution of healthcare resources and reducing health disparities across social groups.
- Science for Sustainability: Focusing on restoring environmental balance and achieving equitable resource distribution for the most vulnerable populations.
- Governance for Society: Discussing how to balance individual freedoms with collective societal needs, and how to combat polarization.
Session proposals can be sent until October 31, 2024, with the conference itself taking place on January 30, 2025.
